Whirlwind Raine Solarwing is a unicorn dragon hybrid Skylander of the Air Element.
History[]
Whirlwind is an air dragon with unicorn ancestry – two species that could not be more opposite in nature, which made her never quite fit in with either group. Other dragons were envious of her beauty, while unicorns shunned her for her ability to fly. But Whirlwind found peace within the dark and stormy clouds, where she learned to harness the tempest power within her. Despite her turbulent youth, she was the first to defend both dragons and unicorns when the trolls began hunting them, unleashing her ferocity in a brilliant and powerful rainbow that could be seen throughout many regions of Skylands. From that day forward, evil-doers would quake when dark clouds brewed, and run from the rainbow that followed the storm.
Whirlwind Raine Solarwing was born into a family of both dragons and unicorns, her mother was a unicorn, while her father was a dragon, creating the world's first unicorn dragon hybrid. Her parents were very surprised that such a creature could possibly exist, Not only were unicorns and dragons extremely different in nature, but their genes don't even match. At a young age, Whirlwind learned how to harness her unicorn powers to control rainbows, storms, and wind. Many were jealous of her for having both the qualities of a dragon and a unicorn, the unicorns became very jealous of her ability to fly, and the dragons, being monstrous beasts in nature, were jealous and envy of her unicorn-like beauty.
Whirlwind eventually learned to cope with the constant jealousy in many people, and taught them that they don't have to be a hybrid of two creatures to be special. As time passed on, Whirlwind became aware of the trolls who were known to hunt dragons and unicorns, she knew she couldn't let this happen no longer. One day, when Whirlwind was spotted by the hunter trolls, she was jackpot to them, a unicorn and dragon, in one? Impossible, the trolls thought. The trolls tried to attack Whirlwind and kill her, Whirlwind, however, using the rainbow and tempest powers she learned years before, she fought furiously back, she was fighting for her life, in a swoosh, the trolls came flying everywhere as she ripped her bright rainbow lit horn right through them, she then unleashed a giant rainbow from her horn, a rainbow that could be seen millions and millions of miles away, many in Skylands saw the rainbow, Whirlwind used the power of the rainbow with her horn to blast the trolls to pieces, she had won, she had killed the trolls, and the dragon and unicorn race was safe from being hunted.
The unicorns and dragons had considered Whirlwind a hero, and she felt proud. Whirlwind then thought that she could put her rainbow and tempest powers to other good uses, therefore, she became one of the Skylanders, and vowed to protect Skylands from evil at any cost. Nowadays, Whirlwind is a known Skylander who loves to stop evil with her magical rainbow powers.
Personality[]
Whirlwind is known to have a hot temper, with her mood swings being as energetic as the weather, from nice and sunny, to dark and stormy. Whirlwind is often very brave and prefers to be alone, as she is seen usually relaxing in the clouds. Although she is a loner, she still enjoys the other Skylanders' company, and is honored to be in the battle against The Darkness.
Abilities[]
Whirlwind is a unicorn and dragon hybrid, so she has powers of both of them. For example, being half unicorn, Whirlwind has a horn which she can use to control her powers, that being rainbows, and being half dragon, she has wings, which she can use to fly. She can shoot rainbow beams from her horn and create storm clouds with a flap of her wings. She can also use her rainbow beams to heal others with an upgrade.
